Anniversary vacation - part 1

For the 3rd anniversary both I and hubby would like to have a small vacation for both of us. It was seems like we had a long period of journey after akad ceremony 3 years ago. We definitely need a break for rejuvenating our relationship. After 1 month of marriage, I was pregnant and now Harith is already 2 years old. Juggle up between office and home must be a challenging moment. Most of the weekdays were full of stressed and limited time for our self. So, for this time around we went to Singapore for 3 days. Yup, it is only 3 days. After hubby examination, we flew to Changi the next day.

We went there with limited info about the country and the vacation mostly base on 'belasah je with limited budget'. I met hubby in the KLIA and we stayed in Empress Hotel. A 3 star hotel but we satisfied with it cleanliness and shuttle facility to LCCT.

After checked-in, we have a cup of coffee at the coffee bean. Then, we only remembered to activate our hand phone roaming. Thank god that there was no problem to do it in just less than 5 mins. However, we couldn’t activate our internet card due to incompetent customer service of C***.

There was nothing interesting during the flight. After 55 mins, we reached Changi Airport. The airport was of course clean but it looks simple with its carpet. Wonder why they use carpet? Isn’t it that the maintenance is more complex? Whatever, it is not my business anyway. Then only we started to look after maps. Haha..of course to study the map. After 30 mins of studying the map and asking some information from the Information counter, we took the MRT to Aljunied station.

Again, we need to study the locality map in order to find the hotel. After having lunch in the mamak restaurant nearby the MRT station, we started looking after taxi. I do not recommend the restaurant. Ntah apa-apa jak masaknya. It was different from Malaysian taxi driver who are more responsible and independent in searching the destination. The taxi driver asked us the address of the hotel? I have never been asked that question before. After some brief explanation, we reached hotel at 2.00 pm. Just on time of the check in time. After having rest and solat, we planned to visit some suggested location. However, it was raining. One thing that we forgot is to bring is the prayer mat because they did not provide it. We have to use the blanket sheet. Hubby bought 2 umbrellas and we went to Orchard Road to have window shopping. I only bought a travel cooker which I was trying to buy it in KL but never see any. Hubby bought camera tripod. We really need it anyway. We also bought Harith a alphabet music toy.

We were trying to look after the boat cruise but couldn’t find the station. One thing about this place is there is limited signboard. We just took some photos nearby the river bank.

Then, we tried to look for halal restaurant but mission failed. We went back to the hotel with empty stomach. Luckily I bought the travel cooker and we managed to find a groceries which sell Maggi mee and gardenia bread and also bananas. Sedey nye…We were hungry. Why almost all people said Geylang is a Malay area and you can easily find halal food. This is totally different. We may get the not updated information. Waaaa

Anyway, we just thankful that we could eat something that we are confidently think its halal. That’s all we had for the first day. At least we manage to shoot some photos. That is the most important thing. Huhu
